I've tried to find the answer but can't so hoping one of you will know! When is the best time to go? I know I had an ultraosund at 6w4d with my daughter and we could see something. I have read that the earlier you go, the better in terms of accurate dates. But is there such thing as too early? Could they get the CRL on that little 6 week blob?
According to my midwives and the OB's in the office, the best time to do dating is before 12 weeks. If you can get one for 8-10 weeks, even better. The farther along you are, the harder it is to accurately date because babies grow and develop at different rates. In the very early stages, they are all doing the same things so it's more accurate. Most OB's will not change due dates after 12 weeks or so, unless there is some hugely obvious difference.
