My first appointment is tomorrow. No ultrasound until Feb. 28th. But, tomorrow is the first pelvic exam, breast exam, and discussion about my blood panel results. I had to admit that I am a little nervous about tomorrow.
The main reason is because of the pelvic exam…. I believe I have a sensitive cervix. I noticed that after the birth of my son 4 years ago every signal annual pap smear has felt very painful and usually results in me tensing up, shedding some quiet tears and being criticized by s surly nurse practitioner at a women’s clinic. I know from my last pap in September that I am healthy down below. No issues of sexual disease, cysts, etc. so I am not sure what causes this pain and discomfort. By the way, I have no other related issues with painful intercourse or transvaginal ultrasounds.
Does anyone else experience this issue and fear the speculum? Any advice?
