The field trip went really well (except for the traditional grumpy coach driver ) and it was a great - if long - day!
It was pouring with rain when I left home at half seven and I thought, Oh no! It's going to be awful! But I just had a weird feeling the weather would be so much better when we got there and sure enough, two and a half hours on the road later, we arrived to brilliant sun.
It was bright and dry all day, although it was cold and very windy. I spent the day with sand getting blown in my eyes so they're still sore now! But it was an amazing experience. The coast was gorgeous and the views were amazing.
I have ME/CFS so I found the day physically demanding and extremely hard but it was oh so worth it. When we walked and walked and came out at the top of a cliff and looked over the most beautiful bay it literally took my breath away. I am SO glad I went! Plus I've been trying to get on that trip for 5 years!
I have literally 200 pics of the day, but here are a few of my favourites...
I love taking pictures of waves... you'll notice this!
See what I mean?
This was from the coach, on the chain ferry, that literally is pulled across the sea on chains! It was bizarre!
The river was up almost to the same height as the bridge!
I'm still finding sand in my pockets, my bag, my hair...
