I got a new tattoo a couple weeks ago...there is still a little flaking in a few spots, but it's almost healed completely. I'm going to be adding water with a fairly large lotus under this. I also might have it extend more onto my chest, but I'm not sure about that yet.

I LOVE this! I love that its more of a 'water color' effect as opposed to having harsh black outlines. It is more feminine and soft, in my opinion, as I feel "flowers" should be. On the other hand, I have heard that it can create issues like bleeding/spreading and it could affect the longevity and appearance of the work. I don't know how much truth there is to that so, please, if you have different information let me know! I had an idea similar (avoiding the black outline) but decided against it after hearing the negative input. But it is beautiful work, I really admire it! I also think it would beautiful to extend the branch in the front onto your chest.

lol Sorry I haven't been back in a month to reply! haha I have heard that too, and there is one spot on this tattoo after healing that I want her to go over again. I figured that I preferred this style so much, I'd rather go with what I wanted, even if I need to get it touched up every now and then. When I get my lotus, I might see if she can add blue shading around it, sort of like the sky or something...not sure yet. I like the flash style cherry blossoms as well but it just wasn't what I was looking for. I do like the femininity of it. It's a big contrast to the nautical stars I have on my inner forearm though, so now I have to get those added to to make them look less harsh. lol

Thanks ladies!
