Has anyone heard of this before? The Ramzi method predicts the gender of the baby at 6w based on where the placenta is located...or something like that.

Some of the girls from my sons old DDC are all into this. IDK but it seems interesting.

I was all into it in my last pg and it was right for the ones I had early scans for. This time, I can't tell where the placenta is since the baby was pretty much central.

I've kind of obsessed over my ultrasound trying to determine, but I don't know... The way I understand it is that if the placenta is on the left side of the uterus it is likely a girl, if it is on the right side it is likely a boy. I believe that if you have an abdominal ultrasound you have to flip the image. Mine was abdominal and it looks like the baby and the thicker, lighter area (which I have read on other sites is supposed to be the placenta) are on the right side. So flip that and it's the left side which would indicate girl for me....I sure hope so, but we shall see.

You cant even see the placenta that early. I asked my ob tech and she laughed.

I guess you go by where the baby is within the sac.

I have NO clue about any of it but it would be cool if you could tell that early. The girls in my other PR looked at my scan and said girl. Honestly I can't figure out head from booty at this point so I will take their word for it LOL Just interesting.

Huh never heard of this. Does it have to be at 6 weeks? My u/s was at 8 weeks on the dot showing baby on the left.

I *think* 8 weeks would work. You have to make sure the picture isn't flipped though. I asked my OB to make sure LOL!

Okay lol. Cool. So I guess that means girl. ;-) it'll be interesting to see, especially since my intuition has been telling me girl too.

It was right for DS2. I didn't ask with this one. You can't just tell from the u/s pic as they tend to move things around to get the best image. Really, unless they have markers on the u/s and if you read it has to be pictured in a certain plain, you can't tell where the baby implanted without asking. I never bothered telling the techs why I wanted to know. I just figured they'd laugh.
