with all this talk about HCG numbers, I broke down and just called my doc so I can go get my work done. They are calling me back and i am sure will send me today for blood work....and then monday for more....so hopefully tuesday some time i will know if i am raising good!
Yea, even though I have a super good feeling about this, I need that confirmation that baby is growing just fine. i just hope they do not want to do an u/s for another few weeks. im waiting for them to call me back now.
Yeah. I have never known my hCG number with either of my other pregnancies (I didn't even have them done with my second). It can be a nice reassurance to see those numbers shoot up from one blood draw to the next, though!
When I called to request mine the nurse was rude to me. She said, "and why do you want to have blood work done?" I was annoyed and she could tell. My Dr (who I loved) moved out of town and I am so annoyed I have to see someone new.
My dr's office told me it was not necessary. Lol maybe not to them but it was to me. They said to come in but there was no guarantee my insurance wld pay for it. That was a chance I was willing to take.
i think it is for an ease of mind...and i think if it is requested it should be done and covered....the doctors can write anything to the insurance companies for it to be covered....for instance "bleeding" or something along those lines.
i never even thought about it til what i went through a few months ago, and i wish i would of had it done sooner so i could of prepared myself better, i knew my dates were not adding up to things, and if i would of seen early on things were not doubling i could of been more mentally prepared.
