Do you guys think that the gender prediction tests you take over the counter actually work? Have any of you ever taken one? If you have was it correct? I am interested in maybe trying one this time.

I haven't tried one and the reviews I've read about them, and they don't seem to be reliable anymore than 50 percent or so of the time, but I do think gender predictors are always fun to try!

Thanks to *Sharon* for my awesome siggy! My pregnancy blog

I didnt try one last time but was thinking it might be fun this go round. I also dont believe they can predict more than 50% of the time but I think its fun to see if they are right.

I tried it last time and it was WRONG! I tried to be careful when I used it and it said Boy for sure. I actually cried my eyes out (not that I wouldn't love a boy, of course) but I was so hoping for a girl for my daughter to have a sister relatively close in age.

Then at my ultrasound I found out it was a Girl!!! It was so exciting.

I told the u/s technician about the gender prediction test and they were shocked it was such a rip-off and that it cost me 30 bucks! The annoying thing is that if you read the insert (at least on the one I used) it really made it out like it was based on serious studies and was pretty reliable if you do it right. So I was really careful when I used it, but it was dead wrong. I didn't go buy boy things or anything, but it really gets you thinking it is probably a boy (or whatever) so I say don't waste your money. You might as well just ask people what gender they think it is.
Mom to Titus (12), Isaiah (10), Noelle (8), Joel (6), Hannah (4), Elijah (1), and baby due Nov 4!

Lurking from the May DDC. I tried the test and it said girl. I found out at 16 weeks that I was having a BOY! Lots of people in my DDC tried them and it was about 50/50 on being right. It was fun to try but don't put any stock into the results.

The one I tried said it was right 85% of the time. LOL. I don't know where they came up with the numbers but it was way less than that in my DDC.

I don't think they predict anything, but I think they'd be so fun to try. I'll probably get one, just for the fun of it. Can't hurt anything!
