Soooo, my husbands good friend is getting married this weekend and I had to go out and get a dress yesterday as NOTHING FITS. It took me a few hours but I finally found something I felt decent in. When I got home I showed my husband and without thinking asked him what the 'wedding colors' were. Nothing had been mentioned in the invitation to the wedding, so he texted the to be groom and he told him that the bridesmaid dresses were 'jade and mermaid'. My dress is black and turquoise.....when I googled 'jade' or 'mermaid' they looked eerily similiar to my dress color. ANYWAY my question is, should I feel weird if my dress is slightly the same color as the bridesmaids? Or if the bride didn't mention anything about it in the invite I shouldn't worry???

I wouldn't worry about it.

First, you get extra bonus pass points because you're pregnant and that's a tough time to find a dress. Second, a lot of people like it when guests dress in their wedding colors as it's so very festive. Third, if the bride is the type to throw a hissy fit about such things, she is the only one who will think it's strange and reasonable people will recognize she's being all bridezilla-ey about it.

So I say go, have a great time, and look fabulous in your lovely maternity dress!

I attended a wedding where the colors were black and red, and wore a black dress. No biggie! plus with jade/aqua shades being such a hot color this fall, I wouldnt worry about it at all.

Thank you *Kiliki* for the awesome siggy

id say the only color off limits for a wedding is white, so as long as it's the not SAME dress as the bridesmaids, you're good to go. <3 you'll look fabulous.

I wouldnt worry about it. But that has happened to me before at a few weddings. Its a little awkward but I'm sure no one else- especially the bride- will notice.
Have fun!!!
