I know this is partially just me stressing out for no good reason, but OMG I hate it when you can't get through to people on the phone.

I'm trying to schedule my labwork / glucose test for early next week. I guess I should've already done it, BUT really you're supposed to be 24-28 weeks and I'm just 24 weeks this week. So Quest refuses to answer their phone, I've been calling all day long. My hospital lab won't answer their phone either. !?! You can make an appt. online with Quest, but all they have for glucose tests is "Glucose Tolerance Test" which TECHNICALLY is the 3 hour test, not the one hour. *SIGH* I went ahead and snagged that slot though, because since it's the only glucose option they have, I think they might just use that for any glucose test. It was one of two available slots for next week so I was afraid if I didn't take it I wouldn't get in at all.

So NOW, do I need to schedule an ADDITIONAL appt. for the rest of the bloodwork!? It's just a CBC and a couple of other things, but I have no idea what to do and they won't answer their phone for me to ask. I seriously almost felt like crying out of frustration.

I could schedule an appt. for 9am (the glucose test starts at 8am) for the rest of the bloodwork but I don't know if it's necessary. What would you do?!

I HATE that too. It always seems to happen to me when my kids are sick and I call the doctor's office right at 9 am and it's then busy for the next 1-2 hours.

I would probably book both appointments, but keep calling. You can always cancel one if you find out it is not needed.

Ok, that's what I did. I feel better that at least I have the appts. scheduled and hopefully they will work with me to be sure I get done what I need to.

At my local hospital you can walk right into their lab and just get it done. (The bloodwork anyway) Does your hospital do this?

I actually scheduled my appt with quest online and selected that option (my high risk doctor wanted me to do the glucose test earlier since I'm high risk) and walked right in and just told them it was for the 1 hour test and additional lab work my doctor ordered and it was no problem.

I could've done the bloodwork that way, but not the glucose test. Stupid glucose test!

Always better to book and cancel if needed.

I'm going In tomorrow morning for my 2 hour 26-28 week glucose test. They said we could just walk in to the lab and no appt needed. I'm hoping it's not busy though, cause like pretty hungry by 10 am tomorrow!

I hope your test went well! I will be happy to have it behind me, ugh.
