Im sure im having a c section. Im pretty sure they will be scheduling it at 39 weeks (or asking me to schedule it at 39 weeks) which would make this an April baby. It would be nice to connect with other C section mamas

I'm lurking from March DDC. Congrats mama.

I will be a repeat c section mama. Not very happy about it, but can't really fight it. I had my 1st via c section due to 2.5 hours of pushing to find her head wasn't straight and wouldn't allow her to come out. So they cut her out.

Doc is scared this time around means that maybe cause I'm short/small framed that maybe I can't deliver naturally.

Also cause it will be 18 months between deliveries.....

I will be having a repeat c-section. This baby will probably be born on the 15th or the 22nd unless he/she has other plans.
With my first daughter I failed to progress after 26 hours and ended up with an emergency c-section, I was 6 days past due.
My second daughter I was only 13 months between babies and was too scared/nervous to try again on my own. She was due on Dec 25th but born on Dec 16th. My dr gave me the option and I chose the c-section.

I've had 2 c sections, 1 emergancy and the other schedualed so this one will probably be c section again. My edd is may 31 but like the others i will probably have this one at 38 weeks so the middle of may the baby will be born.

Yeah I had two really great vaginal births, long labors, quick pushing, but I was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm last October, so even though I most likely had it when I had my other two, they want to be safe rather than sorry. Im still not happy about it but coming to terms with it. Since im Due May 4th, they'd like to section me at 39 weeks. I still havent decided if im ok with that. I have to make the decision at some point. Sighhhh. Nice to know other moms are going to be going through the same thing as me.

Hi Torre...I had a friend who was due Nov. 14. She was able to schedule her section on Nov. 11 bc she wanted an 11-11-11 baby. And they let her! So she was a little over 39 weeks...

I'll be a repeat C-section. My son was an emergency c-section at 35 weeks. I could go for a VBAC if I went with a different ob but even then my chances are slim in a hospital. I'm high risk already and really like my ob so I'm ok with another section. As long as everything looks good though I won't allow it before 39 weeks.

Just out of curiosity, why is it that they want to do a C-section at 39 weeks rather than 40 weeks? I would think it would be better for Baby to be full term. I've never had to have one so I don't know these things

DD was an c-sec after about 70 hours of non progressive labor. Ultimately, my pelvis was too small to allow her to press down on my cervix enough. Even tho everything healed nicely and otherwise I would be a good candidate for vbac, we will most likely not try it.

Some doctors like to schedule the surgery before labor is likely to start, in order to avoid the extra stress labor puts on mama and the baby.

generally, if someone is having a c section, like the PP stated they dont want to risk the drama of OH SH*T IM IN LABOR!

For me, it would be a pretty dramatic scene if I went into labor and showed up in labor. So Im assuming they want to schedule it for me at 39 weeks to avoid the possibility of going into labor. Although, jokes on them, because I went into labor before 40 weeks both time. Abrielle was born on her due date after 41 hours of labor and Anna came 7/28 and her EDD was 8/2.

Id like my section on a Friday (which so happens to hit at 39 weeks exactly) so Shawn can take less days off of work initially but be with us longer. Its REALLY hard for Shawn to take a week off, so this will allow him to take the 5 days off in between the weekends and really, he will be getting 10 days off to be with us.
