So I like to sew and my singer just died on me. I've had it since I was a teenager. There is a Singer 5400 at Walmart with an LCD screen and push button stitch changer functions. This is something new to me and was wondering if any of you ladies had used any seeing machine either push button function. Or if you have a sewing machine recommendation that would help too. I'm on a budget so something under $160.

I recommend Janome, we did a lot of research when my singer broke lol and it seems Janome is a really good brand, been around forever. I have the sewist 500 and do not remember how much it cost.

I have a basic Brother machine, and I've had it for 4 years now and use it a lot. I haven't had any problems with it. I like the basic ones because I feel like there is less that can go wrong with them.

I have a Brother and it has stood up to the test of time. I also prefer the simpler machines because it seems like there is less to break. I also do pretty simple sewing though, so I don't really need fancy extras.
