Is anyone considering getting their own heartbeat doppler? I didn't get one with my son, but I know it would have been so nice to have prior to feeling movement. I've always heard mixed reviews about all of them. Not sure if I'm gonna get one this time...I was just curious what others' experience was with them. Towards the end of my pregnancy last time, I was able to hear his heartbeat with a stethoscope. That was pretty cool.
I got one with my son because I was too nervous with a miscarriage and the weeks of bleeding I had with my son. We used it but it was hard to find at times, which scared me more, and I had a hard time sometimes distinguishing my own heartbeat and the baby. Still it was fun to have and I'll probably try it again if I can find it again
I had one with DD. I got it around 12 weeks. I could always find the heartbeat after some searching. It was nice but in alot of ways I became dependent on it and would go out to my car on lunch break at work and check. I think it became a mild obsession haha I think this time around I won't do that to myself

I had one with my last baby but gave to to someone who needed it, who then gave it to someone else who needed it. Hopefully, it's still being passed around.
I don't think I can afford to get one this time. I'll have more u/s so hopefully I won't worry as much.
Maybe I can talk dh into one for Christmas though.

I had one with both girls. I too kind of became dependent on it!! Lol! With my second dd I freaked out around 14 weeks because I'd lost the heartbeat and couldn't find it for day's no matter how hard or long I tried. So in I went hysterical to my ob that I'd lost yet another baby so late in the game and she did a emergency US and said .... Well that looks like a pretty happy little bean in there and there she was kicking and flailing arms everywhere. She'd been hiding and it scared the crap outta me. I'm going to try really hard not to get so addicted to it this time but I do love being able to listen in when I want or need a little reassurance.
With my last, I rented one from BellyBeats.com. I found the hb very early. I want to say before 9 weeks but I could be remembering that wrong. My older kids and I used it each night at bedtime. It was fun for them and helped them feel more connected to the baby. I will definatly be renting one again.
