I have mixed feelings about it. I went in knowing if we conceived we would have a June baby so I cant blame anyone else for it. On the other I wish that they would ave separate months so that we wouldnt be so crammed for birthday things as well as letting them have their own special time.
I work as a nanny so I dont work in the summer time so for our first child I wanted either a May, June or July baby to give me enough time to be with the baby before work. It worked we had our June 4th baby. I had originally wanted to wait till next year to try and aim for an April baby to give me the same kind of time line to work with. We were trying to sell our condo and I never imagined it would sell so fast (3 days!) and so I was thinking it would be perfect timing to try next year after the condo sold. Once we sold the condo and found a new home for us my husband wanted to try since he felt like waiting till next year would be too long. I agreed to try one time and see what happened since I had mixed feelings about another June baby but we tried and here we are again.
I do! My poor kiddo--I'm due two days before her birthday! It'll be great when they're little and we combine parties, but I have a feeling it's going to get ugly when they're older and don't want to share the spotlight. DD was two weeks late, so I'm actually hoping I go over my due date just to get past her birthday!
Eliza Rose, born 6/9/10 ...and getting a little brother for her birthday! Baby Henry Wilder, due 6/7/13
I'm butting in here bc I don't already have a June baby but I do have two children with August bdays. Two days apart! I was having contractions with my youngest when my middle's bday party was going on. Youngest is 2 now and we just combine their bday parties. It's gone fine so far but I know that down the rd there will be conflict over them not wanting to share a party. So I plan to give DS the weekend before his bday and DD2, the weekend after when they're old enough to care and just keep them gender separate. But we'll still have a combined family dinner thing so my folks don't have to deal with two weekends in a row of parties. That's my plan for now anyways. That may not be practical, I guess.
I have mixed feelings too... We've been trying for 9 months so every month that we didn't catch the egg I was thinking "I bet I'll get a June due date" and here we are. I do worry about birthdays being so close... all our family lives 2 hours away and I'm not sure they'll drive into town for two separate birthday parties so close to each other. But I guess it will have to work itself out. I can see doing joint birthday parties for maybe a couple of years but I doubt a 7 year old will want to share a party with a 3 year old, you know?
An interesting side note... I don't think we are too rare. It seems like most of my friends that have two kids had them in the same month, or same season. (Both summer babies, both in February, etc...) I think we woman have a "fertile period" where we are more likely to get pregnant! I guess for me conception happens in the fall!
I don't have a June baby but I do have a July baby. Jaleigh is July 7, my fiancé is July 3. For that reason, I'm really hoping this baby shows up early or we will have 3 birthdays all on top of each other .
I'm most not looking forward to the Texas heat this summer...I remember all too well with my daughter. Lol
I have a June 7 birthday as well as a May 28 birthday. I also have a July 9 and July 16. A March 23 and April 1 and a Dec 3 and Dec 5.
Sometimes, we do something big and combine a couple birthdays.
Funny thing is, if they had been born on their due dates, none of them would be in the same month.
