I've been so jealous of the ladies that have been able to get ultrasounds done already because I have to wait til 12 weeks to even hear the heartbeat, then 13 weeks to have an ultrasound. And that's only because I opted for the ultrasound for down's syndrome (baby's dad's family has a history of it). So I decided to look up pictures of ultrasounds at 9 weeks...I almost cried!! I know they're not my pictures, but assuming that the baby is doing well, I can't believe that it looks like a baby already!! I can't believe that that little human being is trying to grow inside of my belly right now. It's so surreal to me.
On a positive note (I think, anyway), I was talking to the baby's dad about the losses we've had in our DDC and mentioned that I'd like to get an ultrasound done sooner. He suggested we just embelish a problem (like cramping) and go to the ER. I told him how expensive it would be and everything and he backed down. Haha. I dunno if that's a good sign that he wants to make sure everything is okay too, or if he just wants to see if there's a reason for him to keep sticking around. It was nice for him to be supportive for a minute though!
It will get more real to him when he gets to see the bean. Lotsa expectant dads dont bond straight away and many dont until the baby is born. Just stay calm and dont stress. Your doin great hun. Your already 9 weeks! Hugs!
Just think though.. at 13 weeks he/she will look EVEN MORE like a baby . It was nice to get an early u/s with my DS for reassurance, I won't have one until I am 10weeks with this one... but the u/s in the second tri are a lot more fun I think! More to see for sure
