Anyone have any ideas on how to tell my 7 year old step-son he's going to be a big brother. When we first started trying we wanted to give him a t-shirt saying "I'm going to be a big brother" but his mom got pregnant in May and that's how she told him. He's wanted a little brother or sister since he was 3 so there's no doubt he'll be excited. He mentions once a week that he wants us to have a baby too. We plan on telling him sometime this week after our ultrasound on Wed as long as everything is ok.
Thanks cavewoman for the amazing siggie!

Maybe get him a book about being a big brother? We were going to do something like that for our youngest, but ended up just telling him because he wanted to know why I was so sick all the time =\

I love the book idea. Has anyone seen any that are more for older children? He is reading on a 3rd/4th grade level and most of the ones I have seen are more babyish for his age/reading level.
Thanks cavewoman for the amazing siggie!

The Tales of a Fouth Grade Nothing series is a great one if he hasn't read it. My students thought it was hilarious. It's about a big brother and his little brother is always causing problems. The problem is it really isn't one of those obvious your going to be a big brother books.

Maybe a framed picture of the u/s that says "I'm going to be a big brother"? Or if he is into a particular toy/game getting him two and saying one's for him & one is for his new baby brother/sister. With my oldest and youngest (I have 3 boys) he was really upset that he was getting another brother so it was important to him that this new brother liked Star Wars. So we got him a toy he could teach to his baby brother about Star Wars.
