My DH is sick and now guess what... So am I! As hard as I was trying to be careful it didn't work.. Does anyone know if there is anything safe to take while pregnant that I could take to help me get well sooner and so I can breathe..
I wish there was, I was taking cold meds when I found out!! I stopped those ASAP. I keep hydrated, sit in a shower with extra hot water running, Tylenol as needed, and a lot of blowing your nose. That helps keep draining to your throat down, and not so much crap in your lungs.
I hope you feel better

My doctor gave me a list of medicines I was allowed to take. Tylenol Cold. Robitussin Plain or DM, Benadryl. There are others that you would take with a cold or the like, but it shows not to take them until after 12 weeks.
Drinks lots of water (lots!) to help keep nose and sinuses wet, Vicks under the nostrils apply several times a day, sleep in a recliner if u can, and lots and lots of rest. I had a cold a month ago and luckily it was over the weekend so I laid around the whole time. By Monday I wasn't 100% but much better and I avoided taking any meds. If u have to then u have to but this worked for me and normally I get respiratory infections with colds and I avoided it.
I used peppermint oil as a awesome decongestant, I got really bad congestion when I first found out. I also took claritin as recommended by my doc. I used a hot pack and placed it on my chest ( I had a nasty cough full of mucus) and put peppermint oil around my neck and on my chest, that really helped....not like meds would but it did help alot better than nothing. All in all it took me about 10 days to get over it, which was a first for me cause I am use to just taking decongestants.
