I do avoid cold lunch meats mostly because working at the health department it gets drilled into us a lot and I have known a couple moms lose babies due to listeria. So I'm a little paranoid.
But I don't eat sushi, drink alcohol, coffee, or caffeinated drinks (on very rare occasions) ANYWAY
That's so sad but that's why they warn us about certain things. Why increase the risk if we don't have to. I know caffeine is okay on rare occasions, but I haven't had more than one sip here and there (maybe once or twice a week) because I'm so paranoid to drink it. I hope later in my pregnancy I feel comfortable drinking just a little more, since most doctors say a small amount is OK.

I will eat lunch meat if I ever buy it again lol we don't buy it very often. I love seafood & just had lobster & crab legs a few days ago. I an terrified of drinking alcohol while pregnant so won't be doing that. One of my friends drank beer while pregnant & her baby is ok so far. She never drank a whole lot, just a glass here & there socially but I never approved. Its very odd to see a 8 month pregnant woman at the bar nursing a beer....
But to each their own.
