This will be my first Christmas in 35 years not to go to someone else's home or have someone to mine. It will be just the 4 of us. But after this year, we'll go on the day after Christmas to my in-laws' house. They want us there for the big Christmas Eve festivities, but we're standing firm: as long as the kids believe in Santa, we won't be traveling more than an hour on Christmas Eve/Day. We will always spend Christmas morning at our house. If anyone wants to come down, great, but we won't go elsewhere until the day after! So, for us, it's a homebound, all day in PJs day!
Oh yeah I forgot to say that I am definitely not cooking, lol. We're ordering the cooked holiday meal (turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, cranberry, stuffing, etc.) from Publix and then our family that is visiting will be taking care of the rest (appetizers/desserts etc.).
nowhere! DH's family came to us this weekend, and we did our big Christmas exchange with them today. We made ham, mashed potatoes, corn, hashbrowns, bacon, sausage, and these nifty biscuit sausage bites. It was yummy!
My mom is coming up later in the day on Christmas day, and my sister who lives in town and her family are all coming over for dinner.
~Kasi~ Mommy to Sean Elliot and Taylor Joelle!
I went out and bought an already cooked ham so all I have to do is heat it up and make some glaze for it. We are hanging around home for the day. Figured it would be a nice and relaxing day. Let the kids play with their new toys and stuff. I really am not into running around this year!
My mom and dad came to San Diego from Florida this year, and my brother, SIL, and niece cam down from San Fran. We are doing both Eve and Day at my house. eve we are getting really good Italian carry out (tradition) and doing a full Day meal - turkey, taters, stuffing, etc. we did all the shopping, but everyone but me will be doing the cooking!
