I've heard both as well. I guess, technically, if you just divide the 40 weeks by 3, each trimester should be 13.3 weeks. But I've always considered 12 weeks the end of the 1st trimester and 27 weeks the end of the 2nd trimester.
I always thought it was 12 weeks, and my appointment last week my doctor said I'd be able to stop the Progesterone and Metformin "in the 2nd trimester" and then she said specifically 12 weeks- so I'm sticking with 12!
*Thank you to *Kiliki* for my beautiful signature!*
I say 12 weeks as well so i think you can officially say you survived the 1st trimester
