I downloaded an app, and took a pic of my youngest and wrote Big Brother August 2013. I showed her the pic and she said 'does this mean what I think it means". Us mom it does. "Was it planned?" No mom it wasn't. "Are you eating snipped?" Most likely mom, but not right away. "Oh well congratulations.

I can't tell if she's disappointed, happy, sad, mad, or what. But at least I didn't get yelled at. (Didn't think she would yell at me).

I am wondering how my mom will react too. After my loss in Aug I got the vague impression she couldn't imagine I'd actually WANT a 4th child. (I was her 4th and a total oops.)

I was worried to tell her because I have 3, and we really can't afford them, let alone a 4th. But things happen. I know no matter what shed be there for me, I was just worried shed be like 'are you nuts?'

Thats kinda the way my mom was about it at first, she even told me she was wishy-washy about the pregnancy. DH and I cant really afford a kid right now either and she was concerned about the stress it would cause me. Now? She's super happy and always talks about "her grandbaby" lol even ordered us a crib already. Your mom will come around too I'm sure

My mom was super happy. She loves grand babies. The way I have always been told and always thought, was no matter how much you prepare to have a baby, you are not fully ready, whether it's financial or emotional, for a baby. You just take it in stride and when it comes, you do the best you can. It doesn't matter if you have the best car seat, or the best one you can afford, it doesn't matter the brand of the clothes, or where you bought your stuff from, it's that you are doing what needs to be done to provide for that child. That's what a parent does.

I am in my 30's, we are financially stable, had been trying for 6 months (which my mother knew) and yet I was still scared to tell her. In fact, I sent her a message on facebook.

She has never been excited for any of my pregnancy's. Once baby is here-she is great and the best grandma, but has never shared my joy and excitement in announcing a new baby for our family. In fact when I told her I was engaged and getting married (14 years ago!) she walked out of my house and didn't talk to me for 2 weeks.

Hopefully she come around quickly and share your joy with you. HUGS
