TLC's Baby Story is now looking for families in my area to cast. I'm thinking about signing up. I feel like it is usually a very positive show and not overly invasive and I've never seen an episode where I thought the birth coverage was too intimate. I thought it might be a nice keepsake for our (likely) last baby.
But I do have concerns about security since they use your full name on the show and I deliver at the small local hospital, I feel like it wouldn't be too hard for weirdos to find us with that information. I also am a little concerned about having a camera crew of strangers in the delivery room the whole time. Obviously, I'm not super concerned about the privacy aspect since I'm willing to let them film it, but I do worry about how my husband would feel about it--we've never even used a doula because he wants it to be our moment and he wants to be (and is excellent at it!) my support for that moment. Now, a TV crew wouldn't interfere with his support role, but I wonder if it would make it a lot harder for us to really connect at that special time.
Do you know anyone who has ever been on the show? Would you consider it?
I would do it in a second, I would love to have professional film of the big day!! From what I have seen i can only imagine what has been edited out. I don't think the manbeast would have a proble with it either.

I don't even like having my picture taken, so I would never do it! I'm the one who hides if there's a video camera around. I've never actually seen the show, but based on what you've said, I can see how if you're not so shy it could be a really nice memento.
