I had my OB appointment today and everything was fine, but I lost another 5lbs..(in 2 weeks)... I lost 2lbs at the last appointment so now I'm down below my prepregnancy weight. I know it's because I've had to eat so darn healthy to keep my blood sugar under control but it's starting to worry me a little now.

I spoke with the OB about it and he asked if I was feeling hungry all of the time. I told him no, that I eat 6 times a day, but I haven't cheated AT ALL.. I've been strict because I've been scared for the baby with my diabetes risks. He said that he isn't concerned about it right now and he sees this a lot with women who are properly managing their blood sugar so it's a good thing.

He did, however, say that if I keep dropping pounds like I am (5lbs in 2 weeks) that they will have to examine my diet and such and make sure that I'm giving the baby enough calories and nutrients. But the nonstress tests that I start next week will also show that a bit too.

Is anyone else losing weight? If so what is your OB saying?

No...no weight loss here. But if your doctor is keeping a close eye on it and isn't worried, I would probably trust him. Hope it doesn't become an issue!

I am losing weight too. I only lost about 3 lbs. in 2 weeks. I asked the perinatal specialist that I see weekly about it, and he asked about my diet. I have recently started walking, and have completely cut out soft drinks (should have done a long time ago). The dr. said that I was taking in enough, and that she was getting what she needed, so he was not concerned. He said as long I was taking in what I was, that it was fine.

I have been losing weight also. Last week I was down 2lbs in 2 weeks and I had one appt. where I had gone down 6lbs in 4wks. At my last appt. my OB asked if I had been feeling ok or if I had been sick lately b/c he noticed I was dropping pounds and I said I felt fine. We think it's because I had some issues with my gall bladder and have been trying to eat healthier because of that. Probably helps that I am back at my college (was at University last semester) and parking is atrocious so I always have to walk quite a ways to get to class.

My OB isn't concerned though he said for me not to worry and that baby seems to be growing well so that's good. Plus I was a little fluffy to begin with when I got pregnant so as long as baby girl is healthy I am not complaining lol!

I have not had that experience but I am not as strict with my diet. I do remember a point with my last pregnancy where I ate a really low glycemic index diet and I stopped gaining weight. I was overweight to start with so my doctor never worried. I should probably start being more careful so that I keep my weight gain at a reasonable level.

Yeah I started out an overweight pregnant lady too.. so losing some weight is great news for ME.. I just fret for the baby that's all. But he moves so much and at his last measure during the ultrasound 3 weeks ago he was right on target.

I go back to MFM on tuesday of next week so I guess I will see how he is doing.

Thanks for the input everyone!! I'm going to try not to worry..

I lost two pounds at my last appt, but since I am a bigger woman to begin with, they are not concerned.

As long as the baby is still growing there is no issue!
