anyone exclusively pumping breast milk??? I am and I am surprised its getting easier. anyway I wanted to know what pump you use and other supplies do you use? I first started with the avent double electric pump, but I just got the medela pump in style advanced. I love my medela, its a lot less messy than my avent. how much do you pump at a time and how often??? I get about 7 oz and I pump about every 3-4 hours... I pump every other time he eats... i used to pump every time but it was just too much. I also take Fenugreek and I drink mothers milk. How is everything working for you? Any tips and tricks to keep milk supply up?

I am so jealous of your supply! I mostly exclusively pump but have to supplement with formula sometimes. I make about 4 oz every 4 hours which is not quite enough. I started with mother's milf and fenugreek last week and am only asof yesterday starting to see an increase in milk, about an ounce extra maybe for 2 pumpings per day. I am really hoping to keep increasing, but my supply seems to be holding steady unfortunately. I have the pump in style, thank goodness. I keep a burp rag in the bag at all times to set the milky parts on.

I am waiting for my Medela freestyle From my insurance company. I am renting the hospital grade Medela Symphony while I wait. When I pump in the morning after his first beating I get about 6 ounces. When I get a chance to pump the rest of the day I get anywhere from 2 to 5 ounces. When I had help here all the time I was pumping after almost every feeding. Now I'm lucky if I pump 2 to 3 times per day.

Thanks *Kiliki* for my amazingly perfect siggy!

I'm just using a $30 manual pump (lansinoh brand I think) and it works GREAT. I keep thinking of getting another Ameda purely yours, but the manual is so small and convenient. As long as I pump enough times per day and don't go too long in between and drink my water, my supply stays up and I can increase it pretty easily as well. I'm exclusively pumping right now because he had thrush and I don't want to get it, plus he has never been a great nurser and my supply was suffering because of that in the beginning, so I had to pump anyway.

I am pumping, but not exclusively. I bf'd when we are together but pump while at work. I pump 4 times (every 2.5 hours) while away from Peyton and get around 17-22 oz total. I generally get more milk at my morning pumps and less at my afternoon pumps. I use the Medela Pump in Style Advanced. I have a Medela PIS Advanced at home and I also have a 2nd one I keep at work so I don't have to haul it back and forth.

I prefer the lansinoh brand bags for storing purposes.

Overall I am happy with how things are going. I have close to 150 oz of BM already stored up in my deep freeze.

I exclusively pump too. I'm renting the Medela Symphony but will probably buy a pump soon. My supply varies, first pump of the day I get about 8 ounces then it varies from 2 to 6 oz. During the day I pump about every 2.5 hours and I barely have enough. I actually started giving Quinn formula for her middle of the night feeding, it works pretty well in that she does NOT like formula so she gives up and goes back to sleep unless she is super hungry.
