I'm not use to the cold weather and want to take the baby out on a walk - but it seems too cold. I know some people just bundle up, but I was wondering what temperature you all feel okay taking LO out? How do you bundle up...how many layers?

I took Baxter out yesterday for about two hours and it was about low 50s temperature wise. I had him in a long sleeve shirt and pants and socks and had a lightweight muslin blanket covering him and a heavier blanket on top of him and a car seat cover and top of that plus a hat. I kept checking him about every 10 to 15 minutes or so and he was very warm in his get up. I probably would not take him out if it was much colder than that especially for that long.

Thanks *Kiliki* for my amazingly perfect siggy!

I decided against going to the park a few days ago due to the weather and it was low 50's. But, I live in southwest Florida and to me, low 50's is positively frigid, lol. It was also super windy which really was more of a deciding factor than anything.

I'm in Florida so I don't think my opinion counts...When it's "cold" here (50 degrees here makes Floridians freak out ) I usually dress Eli in a cotton sleep & play so that his feet are covered, and then I bring a flannel blanket and a fleece one. But I'm sure that doesn't help ya'll that have that stuff called snow

I'm the other extreme from you ladies - our average temp since birth has been around 15°!! I'd love to be able to get out and go for a walk but that won't be happening for a few months.

It's so cold I don't even want to take the kid out to the car to go walk the track at the gym.

I guess I'm not sure what my answer would be because it's been too cold to even think about taking him out.

We haven't been out for walks yet bc we are in the dead of winter plus it's not safe to walk on the roads with the snow banks. As soon as the weather warns up, and I'm talkin' 40's-50's, we are getting out there!

I live in Arizona so it is never "too cold" to go outside which is really nice. However when it gets high 50's low 60's im freezing my booty off and have to talk myself into going outside lol its a far cry from you ladies dealing with 15 degree weather. I cant imagine that!

Too cold for me is like the low 40's. I'll take him to and from the car but we don't walk around in that weather. I feel comfortable having him out in low 50's.

When it's cold and we're going to be outside of the house I put a short sleeve onesie on, a long sleeve on top of that then pants and socks plus his blanket.

In Finland (and other parts of Northern Europe), it's the norm to have a baby sleep outdoors in the cold. I don't worry about it too much -- 30s I'd go out with the baby wrapped to me, and 40s in the stroller.

It's not as much the baby as it is me! I didn't used to mind the cold, but in the last three years my tolerance has gone way, way down. We won't be going out to play until it hits the high 50s, probably. My older kids will be out way sooner... They'd be out now in the snow if I weren't such a meanie!

wife to Michael, mama to Zoe (13), Selene (9), Garvin (7), Gwen (4), Thomas (2.5), and a bonus surprise, due 30 April 2016

25 degrees is my level. I've done colder to that, but only to the mail box. I just bundle her up, then grab one of DHs coats and can zip it up over her in the front pack. Works like a charm.
