How do you know it's BH and not just baby balling up? This might be a dumb ? but I don't know the answer. I've been feeling my belly get really tight occasionally, lasting just a minute or two. But sometimes it feels like baby moves away when the tightness ends.
Delight yourself in the LORD, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4
I am a BTDT mom and I don't really know, LOL. My BH seem to last for a minute and I can feel it come on, and feel it slowly release. BH are a little uncomfortable for me too. Not painful, but uncomfortable. It seems like when my baby balls up I can feel the tightening but it stays tight for a while longer like a couple minutes, if that makes sense? Until he moves and changes positions.
I would say what you're feeling is probably a BH. For me I can feel my whole uterus get really tight, just like clenching a muscle, lasts for a moment and I can feel it softening again. They're never painful, just uncomfortable. When they happen while I'm walking I usually want to stop and wait for it to go away because walking is awkward while having one.
This is my 2nd and I have no clue!! LOL! I'm pretty sure I never had BH with Vaughn and if I did, I didn't know it. Lately, I get the balling up feeling quite frequently but I find that when I get that sensation baby is about to do some serious moving and kicking...almost like a wind up and then BOOM, kicks and squiggles. It is not crampy or painful and does not happen in intervals like contractions. So I'm thinking not BH.
I think it's different for everyone or every pregnancy. This is my third. I didn't feel any wuth my first but I did consistently with my second starting at 18wks. This one I have been feeling them since 16 wks. The only way I can describe these is my uterus will completely tighten up gradually then gradually release all over a minute or two. This may be tmi but it feels the same after having an orgasm but it doesn't last nearly as long. Mine can also be preceded or followed by baby moving as I'm sure it's uncomfortable for him. Mine don't bother me so much this round vs my las pregnancy which I'm assuming is due to how I'm carrying this one vs the last... maybe even a little to do with intensity. HTH.
Oh, your uterus will be hard to the touch during a contraction.... harder than it is when you're not experiencing a bh contraction. You'll be able to tell the difference. If it's just baby, only part of your uterus may be harder and not the entire thing.
