Man, the weather in west Texas is insane! Yesterday was beautiful: 60 degrees and sunny. At about 4pm, we got alerts on our phones that we would be under a blizzard watch starting at midnight. We both laughed about it. Well sure enough, we are snowed in today. All the schools and daycare's are closed. All the colleges have cancelled classes (which NEVER happens), all the city and county offices are closed, and even the major interstate between Lubbock and Amarillo is shut down!

Keep in mind, I'm sure this is nothing compared to what you ladies get up north. But, we aren't prepared for any sort of bad winter weather...most years we hardly get any ice or snow at all so the fact that we are expecting at least 6 inches with tons of ice is just crazy!

Lucky! I have been wishing for a random snow day here for 2 years! A couple of years ago we had a couple of days like that and it was nice not to have to go anywhere Stay warm!

We must be getting what you guys got hit with ... we are supposed to start seeing snow/rain/sleet starting later today that goes all night. I think we're projected at 8-10"? This is after we got hit for about 6-8" last Thurs and Fri.

And ditto the stay warm!

I can't imagine getting that much snow! This is crazy enough to me. It's been snowing hard all day long and I just got a call from the school district that classes are already being delayed for tomorrow, possibly cancelled depending on what happens the rest of the day/night.
