I am kinda embarrassed, but I used my belly as an excuse today. I needed to put air in my tires, and I really didn't want to do it, so I drove up to a jiffy lube, and said that I had just attempted to do it myself, and that my belly is too big to let me bend the right way.... they did it for me...
Have you used your pregnancy as an excuse? no judgement!
Haha oh yes mannnnyyy times! A lot of which have to do with the woodstoves in the house and getting wood for them! Bending over just sucks in general so I get SO to do it for me haha meh we deserve some help!
I know when my groin/hip pain was at it's worse I asked someone in the supermarket to help me pick up some pasta sauce jars from the lower shelves. I was trying to stoop or bend in a way that wouldn't kill me or take me 10 minutes to get back up and it wasn't working so I stopped her in the aisle and she was nice enough to help me.
I use my belly all the time to get my boys to help me. They are to the point now where if I drop something they will automatically come running to pick it up for me. They know better than to sit things on the floor because I can't get down there. And now that I'm on bedrest, my youngest (4 yrs) will come say "Mommy, why are you sitting up?? You're supposed to be laying DOWN!!" Hahaha
I think for the kids, being so small and seeing a belly that looks so BIG can kind of make them want to help more.
As far as using it to get strangers to help, I wouldn't say I've outright asked for help....but once I get that tired look on my face & hold my belly with one hand while trying to accomplish something with the other....most people will ask if they can help me. Haha Who am I to say no to help!?!?

I use it every day to get DS to go get things for me upstairs, etc. But I think it's legitimate! I do the stairs enough as it is, so if I have my cute little helper available (he's actually not very willing for most things, but for this he is cooperative), I'm going to take advantage of it.
