This will be the first time I am pregnant through the summer as my babies have all been born in the spring (Feb March May). I'm a little concerned about the heat and swelling. Anyone else have concerns or tips to avoid the swelling?

it sucks. AC,lots of fluids, limited sodium and put your feet up as much as possible.

Spend lots of time in the shade, with your feet up and drink a ton of water. A little swelling is almost inevitable, but water will definitely help.

I've been pregnant in the summer twice. This will be the third time. It's pretty miserable. But I have never experienced swelling in pregnancy... so I don't really have any advice. What others said sounds good!

Yes summer pregnancies are great, he he! I had my son 4 summers ago and it was 110 here with a toddler! I was in the pool a lot and also stayed inside. The good thing is I felt like I could take my son out sooner than I did because my daughter was born in February and it was really cold and rainy!

DD (4 years) was born early September. It was hot. I live in a mild climate, but it's still HOT! We don't have air conditioning but in one room, this time around DH said he'd buy me a little personal air conditioner that you plug in and put on the floor like a fan. I wish we had access to a pool that wasn't a "community" pool.

I'm really kind of scared at the thought of being pregnant all summer. I had Chase on 6/9 and that was already almost "too much" for me in terms of heat. My poor ankles were so badly swollen, no matter how much rest and water I got.
I plan to live in the AC and maybe the ocean all summer lol

Also my first time being late term pregnant in the summer. We have a swimming pool we can visit on the weekends with my husband and my parents live near a small beach but with so many little kids to pack and travel with (I babysit) I imagine we'll be doing alot of staying indoors trying to find other stuff to keep us busy.

My last baby was born at the end of September and it was the hottest summer in decades and lasted through October. It was awful. I've been pregnant in the summer with all of them, but not far along with the 3 bigs. I just took them outside to play in the mornings and evenings, during the hottest part of the day, we were inside in the a/c. I wore mostly dresses and only flip flops. Drank TONS of water and if we were outside in the sun, we were in the pool. Oh and I ate tons of snocones he he!

Lol I'm not a summer person cause I hate being hot but I'm really looking forward to it. This is my first late summer baby too. DD2 was born at the end of June n that wasn't bad. I'm looking forward to the beach (yes I plan to rock the two piece n belly lol) and berries should be out in the next month or so. I live in the south so its already warming up down here n I'm enjoying it. We doing a lot of summer activities this year n I'm super excited about it.

This is my first summer baby also. My first two were February and November. I had REALLY bad swelling in my feet and ankles with my first, not as bad with my second, but it has me a little worried. I plan to be inside a lot, and spend as much time at my parents' pool as I can! I think I'll also get a blow up pool for our backyard as well. And my doctor has already talked to me about limiting my sodium.

I am NOT excited about being huge in the summer. I don't really like the heat and I don't like revealing clothing even when i am not pregnant. Uggg. I feel like I am going to look horrible, but have to suck it up and deal. My son was born in May and that was such a good time to have a baby! Oh well. Mostly I'm grateful . . .

I am so not looking forward to it either. I've had a November baby and a February baby, no summer babies yet. Mostly I am scared of the swelling, ugh. And soooo not looking forward to having to be in summer type clothes when I am fat lol

I am looking forward to having a summer baby so I can go swimming and wear cute sun dresses! I just hope I am able to handle the heat. I plan on doing a lot of outdoor events this year. We'll see...
