I'm so happy to be switching providers! I had my consult with our local birthing center and midwives and I LOVE THEM!! I'm sad I can't actually birth there (FL law, can't VBAC at a birthing center, only at home or hospital) but now the practice has a CNM on staff who has hospital rights (another FL law, licensed midwives don't have hospital rights). So everything is working out!
I actually have my first appointment with them on Thursday and that includes my glucose test....which again makes me so happy! LOL I don't have to drink any sugary crud! They gave me a list of a specific breakfast to eat 2 hours before my appointment. I LOVE THEM!!!! I have a feeling the rest of my pregnancy will be less stress on wondering if I'll actually be able to attempt the VBAC that I want!
Has anyone else been able to eat the breakfast for their glucose test? If so, what did yours consist of? I have to have 4 oz of UNSWEETENED juice....does that mean sugar free? Or should the bottle just say unsweetened? I have regular OJ in the house, but it's "naturally sweetened"....so confusing!!
I would check the juice ingredients. Sometimes they just use a less refined sugar/sweetener and call it "natural". Like [sugar] cane juice or grape juice concentrate or something. That is basically sugar too though.
