Are you a thrifty shopper? Clothing or grocery?

Do you use coupons?

I have seen that extreme couponers on TLC and that is just crazy to me! Good for those people but I could never do that. Every time I cut out a coupon I forget it at home!

Coupons don't work for me as I don't eat the things they are for. I try to shop sales and shop in bulk. I also bake/cook from scratch.

For clothing I sew most of our needs. I'm not feeling well enough to sew everything the kids need, so I've been searching local listings. I just got an overly full wardrobe for my youngest for now and next winter for cheap. He won't look as cute, but I don't have to stress over him now.

I will still try to sew for my girls. They are getting to an age where I don't like the clothing offered. A lot of it looks trashy and is poorly made! I'd like to get them some shorts/capris so I can focus on cute tops!

For the most part I am, but I don't really use coupons. I almost never see them for something we use that is cheaper than we get at Aldi. But I'm willing to spend more for organic produce, fair trade coffee, stuff like that. This summer will be our second getting a CSA share for local organic fruits and vegetables, which is definitely more expensive than grocery store stuff but totally worth it in my opinion.

Um, no. Not so thrifty. I recently had to have the "come to Jesus" talk with my husband after he saw all the charges to Macy's.com and JuicyCouture on our bank account. Ooops.

I feel like I'm pretty thrifty. My kids are all dressed pretty well if I do say so myself, but I get all their clothes on sale/clearance. Now that my daughter is getting older she's becoming more picky, wants Abercrombie jeans etc, which is fine, I was young once also, so I remember. But I'll get her jeans when Abercrombie has them on sale for like $20-$25 each. And a lot of times they have pretty good clearance on hoodies and stuff. Macy's also has good kids clearance. Gap does too, I usually stock up on jeans for my boys when they go on cleanance at gap.

I try to bargain shop but ill also spend whatever if its something high quality. I think you get what you pay for sometimes. DH disagrees unless its his clothing or hunting related. Then top of the line is great

I agree, toilet paper and trash bags are two of everyday things that I won't buy cheap. Also my makeup. I break out so bad I have to use pricy stuff.

Yeah, I'd say I'm pretty thrifty. I have bought all the boys' clothes at consignment shops, and we usually buy generic grocery items if I don't have coupons. I am definitely the "saver" in our marraige--DH just spends money randomly and it drives me nuts.

Nope not thrifty at all! Unless you count saving time as thrifty? I don't care what it costs as long as it saves me time! I can make more money, I can't make more time and time is something that is far too precious and fleeting!

I'm relatively thrifty for groceries but not clothes. I don't coupon, but I plan meals and shop around store ads. The only time I use coupons is at Joann when I'm buying fabric.

I would consider myself thrifty!

I don't clip coupons anymore because i do my grocery shopping at Aldi and i haven't spent over $100 on groceries since!

My big scores on clothes for myself last year were a $200 winter coat for $30 and $450 pair of boots for $45!

I found Teegan a cute button up shirt for Easter from Goodwill that turned out to be Abercrombie Kids (I don't really care about labels, just thought the shirt was cute lol) for $1.50! You can't even tell it was worn by a previous kid.

I just think it's kind of fun. I love to shop and i'm pretty picky about what i like, but i don't want to pay very much for it. Challenges are exciting

Working on baking baby #3!
