My BFF since we were five had her second baby the other night. I was her doula for her first and got to be her doula for this lil guy too. She had a home delivery with both babies and this labour was SO fast! I was at her house till 10pm just visiting and she was having minor random contractions and then at 12am she called me to come back because they got stronger. She started pushing around 2:40 and had he was out in about 3 minutes! It was so amazing!

I got to leave my job too and now Im her post-partum doula for the next month so lots of newborn snuggles for me Its making me so excited to have this lil one who keeps kicking me all day long!

I had my appt yesterday and everything went great. Heartrate was 160 and Im measuring perfect

Wow! How neat! That sounds like an awesome labor. Me, too, please! lol

I wonder sometimes what it would be like to be on that end of the labor experience (observing) rather than being the one laboring. Are you going to doula full-time after she doesn't need you anymore?

so exciting :-) My nephew was born a couple weeks ago and it makes me want to hold my baby so bad.

What a lovely experience..

I have my doula training but sadly just can't find the time with kiddoes to do it!! I have attended 4 births and absolutely LOVE it but being on call and having childcare ready any time of the day for up to 5 weeks is just impossible for me ... Always wonder how others do it..

Thank you Jaidensmum!

I wont doula full time, I decided not to do it professionally right now. Just like others said, its too hard with having a child to find last minute child care. But it is such an awesome job. Watching babies be born is such a miracle!

That's so wonderful! Being on the "watching" side of birth is so cool

I don't doula full time either, it is too hard daycare wise. I did for quite a while before I had Emie though because I had more options with my older kids. I haven't attended a birth in a while... makes me sad
