Well my son had to be induced because I had such intense pressure on my lower area that they decided to induce. They had no idea what was wrong (do not know whether to chalk that up to carelessness with the doctor or not) with things and why I was getting the pain. They induced the week before. Found once induction was begun that I had way TOO much amniotic fluid.
My daughter I developed GD and about halfway through or so they mentioned that she had less fluid then needed to be and wanted me to be seen for NST's twice a week. She was measuring a bit smaller as well. My due date with her was Dec. 22nd and they decided to induce a week earlier. On the date of my scheduling for the induction they then changed my due date that close to the end and said I was only 38 weeks and they would induce me at 39 which was her due date. I went into labor on my own that night.

I think i might have had too much fluid too (always measured 2-3 weeks big) but they never mentioned it to me. They certainly were surprised when they broke my water and i literally flooded the bed, the floor and a good ways away from the bed so much it started looking like a river.
