The nearest place to shop, other than walmart, is about an hour away so I want to get at least one nursing bra before baby is born. I have no idea what size to get and was hoping you could advise me. My normal size is 36D. Any idea what size I might need from your experience?

Really going to depend, I think. I have never gone up more than a size after delivery, but both of my sisters were just complaining they went up 3 and 4 sizes. It really varies. I plan to go ahead at get one or two a size bigger because of my past experience, but I'll wait until Omega is here before spending too much $$ on anything.

I am normally an A cup. Over the course of pregnancy, I usually go up to a C cup. Then, usually before I even leave the hospital, my milk comes in and I'm usually up to a D cup. By 4-6 weeks postpartum, my supply has evened itself out and I'm usually back down to a C cup until I wean. I expect something similar this time as well.

Unfortunately there just isn't any way to know. My advice would be to get a couple that are more like sports bra/soft cup styles just to get you through until things settle down and then invest in a good bra.

I would suggest to get the sport bras style nursing bra that comes in sizes small medium large etc. and go a size up that's what I'll be doing since there's no way to really know what exact size you will be. Walmart sells them in those sizes and they're pretty affordable. I would say get a couple of those until you know what size you will be.

I get one that fits now and that is usually good. Of course with our first two I did not really get bigger there during pg. I got perhaps one cup size larger while nursing. This time around wow they did grow. Who knows is probably the best I can tell you. That said I did get 2 nursing bras at Kohl's that I am wearing now and expect to wear to nurse. They were originally $36, then on sale for $21 and then 30% off with coupon. They are nice and have good straps. If I cannot use them later, at least they were not that expensive.

Hard to say. I went from a C to a D with my first. With my second I was a B the entire pregnancy and through nursing. I've definitely changed band size and gotten a little fuller this pregnancy, so who knows what will happen when my milk comes in. I did pick up some nursing tanks yesterday

I went up about one FULL size with all of mine. Maybe you should start with one size bigger and leave the tags on. If it's not big enough once your milk comes in, go exchange it for the size that works.

As others have said, it's tough to guess size. You can't know what your supply is going to be like and how much it's going to inflate you. I got huge during my last pregnancy and even bigger when my milk came in. I agree with the tip to get some sports bra style ones in a size up and then get real sized ones when you know what you need. Just make sure that you don't get underwire (can cause clogged ducts). I got some nice ones cheap at Target when I needed them for DD. I will definitely get more there this time around. Before I knew about the nice Target ones, I got some at Walmart that were HORRIBLE and I hated them. If I didn't throw them away, I will when I find them.
