I am now 4cm dilated and 80% effaced, 2 days from my due date!!
I had my membranes stripped today and was bleeding a bit after and felt uncomfortable.. that is slowly going away! booo.. I had it done about 5-6 hours ago. I guess I have up to 48-72 hours?
Not sure...
did membrane stripping work for anyone?

It worked the 3 times I had it done. It happened about 24 hours after I had it done.

Chickened out and didn't have it done at my appointment today. Good luck though!

4cm! think you'll go fast once you start contracting again? I didnt have my membranes swept but did fast circles on the birth ball in both directions, walked, and did a little pressure points good luck

I've never had mine stripped but fingers crossed that it works for you! Maybe things will pick back up later, or things are happening that you're not feeling right now. Either way, 4 cm is a great start!

Also very curious how it felt! I think I'm gonna do it next week, which will be about 5 days past my due date (is it sad that I just expect I'll be pregnant forever??).

Can't wait to see how things progress!

When I got it with my DD's pregnancy it did hurt and caused crampy feelings and bleeding for the rest of the day but didn't put me into labor. I think I bled lightly the next day or so too and I had gotten it a week before my due date. But if you're body is already about to start, I guess it's supposed to give you a jumpstart!

I want the sweep but I don't want to endure the experience if I am not ready. At my check up I was 2-3cm and 80% effaced. If by my next appointment things have progressed I will definitely do it.

For me, it did hurt and a bleed and cramped a bit after, even had a few braxton hicks.
As far as labor goes, nothing here yet.I guess you have up to 48 hours for it to work?
Its been almost 24 hours... so trying not to lose hope but things are not looking to good.
I did however finally start to lose some of my mucus plug and feeling a bit upset to my stomach... so heres to hoping!
Tomorrow is my due date.
