Good for you! I love the "if you don't like it, you can go live with your mother" part. That was brilliant! Hopefully, she gets the hint and stays out of stuff. Besides, if she thinks you're protective now, just wait till your mama bear comes out when you feel the need to protect your little one from her.
We had to take some pretty major steps to get my MIL to back off, but now she's terrified we'll cut contact again, so she toes the line. It helps that my dh saw her manipulation and we're on the same page now. Hopefully, your husband will realize that in building your little family, he doesn't need her approval or advice anymore.
