In my other post, I wrote about being hooked up to the fetal monitor today by mistake. My doctor does this once at 36 weeks, regardless of not having problems. So, when the nurse realized I wasn't supposed to do it today, she unhooked me and through my little graph away. I got it out and brought it home.

Can someone explain what it means? There's a line at the top, which I'm guessing is the heartbeat. What's the line at the bottom?

I think the bottom line measures any contractions.

Yes the line on top shows your LO's baseline heart rate and the bottom shows if you have any contractions.

Yep. The first is fetal heart rate and the second is contractions. Try not to analyyze it FHR is not easy. I have to do it for part of work. As a non doc, I have to read a lot to understand a little. The good news is that the doc knows right away. When you are in labor they will have you connected nearly continuously. The different patterns will tell the doctor that your child is doing well throughout delivery.
