Holy H-E-L-L Parker is there. If you haven't heard of these (which I hadn't until earlier today when I was at my wits end and googled 4 month baby issues) then I hope you never have to know what these are to the extent I am finding out now. Apparently in the 4th month babies go through so much development they turn into little clingy, angry, unhappy demons. Wow I wish I had been prepared. Some call it the 4 month sleep regression, which I think only covers a part of the issue. Parker has become whiny, clingy, tired (because he now hates sleep), and VERY vocal. He was such a calm baby and had finally started occasionally sleeping through the night and then this hit. Is anyone else in this phase? Any BTDT moms have any advice on how I can get more than 2 hours of sleep or any idea how long this may last? It's SUCH a challenge!

We are experiencing the opposite. Dex is 4.5 months and just started sleeping through the night and being more easy going! But I totally know how you feel. At 3 months dexter was up every 2-3 hours every night! I was a mess!

Hang in there! Everything is a phase and this too shall pass . Maybe try crying into a pillow every now and then. It is a great stress reliever for me!

Thanks Vicki for my always awesome siggy!

Vivi's been a bit of a mess lately. I don't know whether to chalk it up to the shots or something else. She isn't sleeping nearly as well though and is super cranky so maybe this plays a part?

Where did you get info on this?

Yep, max regressed about 2 weeks ago. No sleep for mommy lately! Hes been so whiney too. I think teething has something to do with it.

Thanks *Kiliki* for my amazingly perfect siggy!

Yes, here too. It's been going on for a few weeks. Lincoln HATES sleeping now, especially during the day, so he is cranky ALL.DAY.LONG. He is a really sleepy baby still and can only go for about an hour of awake time during the day before he needs another good, long nap, and if he doesn't get enough sleep he's soooo cranky. I feel like his gums are bothering him because he cries and chews his fists and plays with his bottle a lot instead of eating.

Monday was terrible, he wouldn't let me put him down all day, but I think it's because I had to give him 4oz of formula on Sunday (we were out of town and I just couldn't pump enough) and he was acting like his tummy hurt and he was super gassy.

However, he did sit in his exercsaucer for 40 minutes yesterday, which is the first time he has sat anywhere like that for more than 5 minutes without crying so I was happy!

I'm sorry you're all going through this, but I'm glad I'm not alone! I was afraid to say anything bc I thought it was just my baby.

Lucy has been extra fussy, clingy, fights sleep, and sometimes goes do far as inconsolable crying. It's the worst bc I don't know what I can do to help her.

Luckily it doesn't affect her too much at night. She's stirs in her sleep more often, but doesn't cry at night thank god.

I didn't go through this phase with my first daughter, so this is all new to me. I think the only thing that will help is time- it's just a phase, this too shall pass.

Same thing going here, It's a miracle if I can get the kid to nap for more than 10 minutes. He's also waking up earlier and earlier for his night/early morning bottle. On Saturday and Sunday he didn't nap for more than 30 minutes the entire day so we had meltdown city over here. He also isn't eating as much as normal. I thought he was getting sick because we went from five 6oz bottles to five 2-3oz bottles. Yesterday he got his last round of shots until he turns 1 and he was such a happy baby that took 2 long naps and didn't fuss one bit.

We had this for about 4 days! I thought she was teething, but then it all cleared up.

Im pretty sure we are through with this phase. Ember was a little more fussy than normal and was waking up at 4AM as opposed to 8AM. For us, it lasted about 3 or so weeks. I am pretty sure we are over it, but now that I said this, she will go back to her sleep regression again

Ours isn't as awful as some of what you all are going through, but there's definitely a weird phase. He doesn't want to eat (and the ped is obsessed with his eating), and he doesn't want to nap. I think not napping during the day is the only thing keeping him sleeping at night, because he's so exhausted, but he definitely fights it, and that is new.

I didn't know there were names for it. That makes me feel a little better.

Josh has been super cranky, very distracted while eating, and whiney lately. I thought it was from his shots, or he was coming down with a cold bc ds and dd had colds last week...but maybe it is what you all are talking about. I guess I will wait and see if it goes away in a day or so or not...then I guess I will have a better idea of what it is...I sure hope its not sleep regression....I need my sleep!!!

Thank you *Kiliki* for the awesome siggy

Lincoln is seriously getting ridiculous with his sleep during the daytime! I don't know what to do. He was up most of the day today and he was SOOO tired. Every time I held him against my chest he would rub his face into me and roll his eyes all over the place, but then he would squirm and struggle and cry until I stopped trying to get him to sleep.

So far his night-time sleep is ok but he is eating sooo much during the night because he doesn't want to eat more than 2-3 oz at a time during the day. Just enough to take the edge off his hunger and he's ready to be back up and playing and looking around.
