might be a silly question but how do I change the label "newbie" that displays under my name when I post? I am new to the site but with two boys at home and my third baby on the way I'm feeling more like a super mommy than a newbie haha
Hi Oriyan! I'm living in Massapequa Park, grew up in Farmingdale, never went far from home lol where abouts are you? I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old, never joined a chat site before but this time though it would be fun!
That's awesome! I grew up in Freeport, moved to Bellmore, and then moved out to Suffolk for 7 years. I just left NY a year ago and now am in South Carolina (Although I am flying back to NY tomorrow for a visit!) I had my son at Stony Brook
love love long island but so **** expensive! lol we have thought about moving a few times but all my family is here and I don't know if I could start over somewhere new by myself! My husband works in the city so he said no Suffolk for us (already thinks his commute is too long haha)
I'll tell ya, other than housing costs, and food and gas costs -- everything else is not much cheaper down here! Cablevision was A LOT cheaper than my cable here! My water bill is insane, I have to pay for my trash. Gas is kinda cheaper. Electric is the same.
Housing -- I live in a HUGE house here. In NY it would probably cost like 3k a month to rent. I don't pay anywhere NEAR that. Oh and day care costs! Thats really dirt cheap here too! I pay 50% of what I paid in NY. And car insurance. My insurance dropped 55%.
My family is in NY too. So is most of DHs. But we left. It's not so bad.
yea housing and daycare are crazzzyyy!! I hear about what other people pay in other areas and it makes me sad lol I'm lucky that hubby has a good job and I don't really have to work much, other wise we would definitely not be on baby #3!!
I'm not surprised about car insurance, every says NY drivers are crazy
Enjoy your visit back this week! Its cloudy and kinda crappy weather here today but at least its getting warm.
