A lot of acne meds aren't safe for pregnancy so I would ask your doctor just to be sure it is safe before using! I don't use anything when I have my pregnancy breakouts, usually they go away after a few days. Once baby is born I go back to my pro-active.
I had really bad cycstic acne on my face when I was a teenager and only got rid of it with a pretty serious round of accutane. I then had to have about a year of acid peels to reduce the scarring on my face. So even though my chin is covered and I look like I've been punched in the mouth from the couple of pimples around my mouth, I guess I feel like its not a big deal compared to my previous experiences. It'll go away soon enough, so I don't do anything for it.

Yes, proactive is NOT recommended during pregnancy. I stopped using it last time, and when they sent me my new stuff a couple months ago (automatically charged my credit card and mailed it to me without notification...), I found it burned my face.
I used Norwex face cloths and Neutragena moisturizer and found them very effective.

Surprise baby! due 3/27/2017
Mine was really bad for my first pregnancy so I went to my dermatologist to get something that was specifically safe for pg. It helped but wasn't a miracle. For me it basically gets better in the 2nd trimester. Mine is starting to let up now.
