Probably a change or 2 of clothes, wipes, and a nursing cover. Man I was just trying to figure out how to downsize what I carry for Megan to fit enough stuff for April.

Now that is something I don't have...

Erm, other than the obvious, a change of clothing, some baby wipes, a little tube of nappy rash cream if she ends up with it.

It will end up in the basket under the pram so I imagine that as time goes on I will end up with a wide array of stuff I don't need in there.

Diapers, trial size diaper cream, travel size wipes, onesie and maybe some baby legs, pacifier if the baby takes one, receiving blanket and clips to make it a nursing cover. Thats it, I guess.

Honestly, I haven't thought about this much. I'll probably just throw in a couple diapers, wipes, change of clothes, benadryl in case of allergic reaction (we had a scare when dd was young), a coloring book and crayons for dd, age appropriate snacks, a toy, and my normal stuff. In the car, I will also have an extra shirt for myself in case it is needed.

This might be a dumb question, but do newborn babies actually need those little mitten things to cover their hands?

A change of clothes (you NEED this! Seriously. The first appointment I ever took my son to and he pooped all over everything and I didn't have a change of clothes. Absolute necessity.), some diapers, wipes, an extra pacifier, a toy (probably three little ones for my three littles ), and an extra blanket.

Those last few items aren't necessities but they are nice to have. I almost always bring a blanket with me when I take a baby anywhere but having an extra, thin blanket is always handy. And honestly, we keep an extra paci in the diaper bag because we are horrible with losing them and like to have a backup in the middle of the night

In the beginning, an extra shirt for yourself! Before you may have figured out your leaking patterns or baby spit up patterns

I'll pack enough diapers for both kids, wipes, hand sanitizer, a couple of onesies, a pacifier or 2, 4-5 granola bars (for me and the kids), nursing cover, my wallet, phone & keys.

Aside from the things that are in the hospital bag, the diaper bag is pretty much packed already. I will just transfer the stuff over after. Diapers, wipes, a change of clothes, basic first aid, diaper cream, lotion, and hand sanitizer. A nursing cover if it ever shows up!

Thanks so much Claire for my awesome siggy

Glad I read this - change of shirt for mom is such a good idea and I didn't think about it. Other than that I'll pack diapering stuff and baby's change of clothes always, and snacks/sunscreen/etc depending on the outing.
