Baby A has been sleeping 8-10 hours per night for the past 3-4 weeks. It has been awesome! Then last night she woke up 6 times. 4 times she put herself back to sleep and the other two times I had to feed her. It sucked. I really hope this isnt the beginning of a new habit.
That's the 4 month "mile stone" lol. They become a lot more aware of their surroundings at that age and are much more easily distracted, that results in less efficient milk consumption during the day therefore they want to catch up on that missed nutrition at night. You can try going into a quite room to feed the baby during the day, but if memory serves me right she still found things to get distracted by. All to say that it's normal, although frustrating.
L has been waking up a lot at night to nurse as well. Every 1.5-2 hours instead of sleeping for 6 hours at a time. He takes a quick nap during the day and pretty much doesn't eat all day either. He makes up for it all at night. It's not ideal but eh as long as he's sleeping and eating I'm good.
It's normal for babies to experience some sleep regression at this age, usually between 3-5 months. It's usually caused by a change in their sleeping pattern, from long periods of deep sleep as a newborn, to alternating periods of light and deep sleep, like us adults! This is a shock for babies at first so they can wake up during these periods of light sleep and not really know what's going on! Don't worry it'll pass
Some nights when I'm really tired I have no recollection of feeding her lol, I just know I did feed her because I wake up with my boob hanging out (we co-sleep) and a burp rag over the other boob to catch the let down haha. One night I woke up because she was stirring, and I thought I was trying to give her a paci, but I was actually shoving the paci at my nipple lol. I need ot start going to bed earlier.
omg this happened last night to us!! She has been sleeping SO good for the last 5 weeks and last night would not sleep in her bed at all!! I ended up sleeping on the couch with her on my chest, thats the only was she would sleep. I was wondering if she had a tummy ache or something....
Anna has been waking up during the night again for the past few nights...I sure got used to her STTN! I knew this was coming at some point, though. It wouldn't matter so much, except that I have to be awake & alert all day.
