The first month of life Ellianna was a huge spitter - but a happy spitter. I would walk her and splat - there it would be on the floor. I would joke that I needed to take a change of clothes for me whereever I went. It was OK though as she was gaining weight and happy.

Now the spitting has slowed down and she just cries all the time. I do note the following which seem to be signs of silent reflux:
1) During nursing sessions she will pull off to scream.
2) Wailing cries for the hour after eating.
3) Snorting after eating (sounds like a respiratory issue - but her lungs are OK).
4) Will not tolerate being on her back.
5) When she does spit - she is actually better.

We are not supposed to go to the doc until July 29. I am thinking of calling and trying to move up to today or tomorrow as sh will be 6 weeks tomorrow.

Any moms with kids with silent reflux. Did they give you meds? Did they work? Anything else work - I have been sleeping with her in an oversized chair with her on my chest so that she is more upright.

I'm taking Anna to the doc on tuesday to talk about reflux. Her appt wasn't until aug 6th but I refused to wait that long. Even if she doesn't have it, it'll give me peace of mind to know. I personally have had reflux literally as long as I can remember and it sucks.

From what you described as her symptoms, I'd say go ahead and move the appt up. Anna doesn't have some of the really awful symptoms (some of which you described), but she still has some that concern me and that don't seem normal for normal spitting up or fussiness.

I suspect silent reflux with Henry. He arches his back and fusses after eating. When he burps, a lot of the time I can tell he almost spit up, but he gulps it back down and nearly chokes on it. When he does spit up, it comes out of his nose and he chokes again. He's barely slept this week and been extremely gassy.
