The traffic is INSANE here. I absolutely hate it. Off peak traffic here is worse than rush hour traffic in Arizona.
I've gotten a few. They're all complete baloney, so I think the cops were just trying fill a quota or something. My first ticket, I got pulled over for turning into the outside lane when turning left at a stoplight. And then one time I got ticketed on the way home from a dealership after having bought used car with illegal tint. I tried to explain that I just bought the car, literally 10 minutes ago, and that I'd get the dark tint removed, but I got the ticket anyways.
Then I've gotten two speeding tickets. Once I was going 6 mph over the limit and once I was going 8 mph over. Dumb. Now I never go more than 5 over, just in case there's a grumpy cop around looking for any reason to write up a ticket.
The traffic isn't too bad where I live. Our neighborhood is in a historic downtown section of our city so there really isn't much congestion. We are a suburb of a major city, so the interstate about 15 minutes away is terrible with commuter traffic. Plus, they are working on widening the interstate so sometimes it is down to one lane. The traffic during rush hour for that is horrendous. So glad I don't need to get on the interstate
I've gotten 1 speeding ticket when I was 19. I was doing 80 in a 55, but it was a speed trap. The interstate I was on suddenly dropped from 65 to 55 and cops were sitting there. The guy was nice enough to write it down to 73 so I wouldn't lose my license.
Sort of. I live in a suburb outside of Houston (which has the most awful traffic in the country, next to California and Dallas) so it isn't terribly crazy. The best thing is that there are so many back roads to take in my town you can pretty much avoid the crazy weekend/rush hour traffic.
A speeding ticket at 18, two of those stupid red light tickets and one major one when I was talking on my cell and passed a stopped school bus. I noticed it but when I stopped I was about 5 feet past it and just my luck a cop was waiting at the driveway of the apt complex the bus was at. I did the deferred adjudification and I still had to pay over $600. Big lesson learned at 20!
In the city I live in its not bad unless its around the time everyone starts and ends work. However I am right next to the freeway and it gets packed at certain times. I'm about 20 minutes from Detroit and the freeway next to me is I-75.
