"Oh yeah this pregnancy is easy!" I said. "No problems!" I said.

2 nights ago, I had BAD BH contractions 2-9 minutes apart that would not stop for anything. Took a bath, laid on my left, laid on my right, had a small glass of wine -- nothing!!!! Finally took some cal/mag and they stopped and I was able to get to sleep. Called the midwife yesterday morning who said it is just my irritable uterus and nothing can be done -- and she expected this since I can't take 17P. Went in for an u/s and check -- everything is closed up, not funneled, etc. Which is good.

Last night -- same thing!!!! Grrr!

So, it's cal/mag twice a day now to keep these away.

Normally I'd be fine, but cal/mag makes me feel so sick to my tummy

I think you are too kind. Kind people give the people around them a hard time. You can't express yourself honestly, because you are worried about hurting other people's feelings, and that makes you miserable.~"Winter Sonata"

Dang that stinks girl What brand of cal/mag do you take? I take it, too, to reduce pre-e risks, and the only brand that doesnt make me feel sick is the trader joes brand.

I take the Natures Made brand. It's the magnesium that makes me feel sickly Just makes my stomach feel "off". I have every 2 week appointments now since this all started. I go back after labor day when I am 27 weeks. I'll start every week appointments at 34 weeks. My labor won't be stopped after 36 weeks. Same story as with my first! Apparently 17P doesn't really help with an irritable uterus anyway. Muscle relaxers help though -- and the only safe one is Flexeril and that knocks me out and renders me useless.

I have a script for procardia (10mg) in case of emergency (cause i am going out of town next week for 5 days - i have the name of the 2 nearest hospitals with excellent NICU's in case of emergency). Which means I have to bring my BP cuff with me because I already have low BP, and that just makes it worse (but wards off ALL BH's -- but makes me EXTREMELY dizzy).

Ahhh pregnancy.

I've had bh like that for several weeks now. Up to 20/ hr. probably because I'm low risk but my dr shrugged it off and said this season a lot of his patients have been complaining about them. He said to try Benadryl that its known to help.

See with my first my midwife shrugged off all my issues -- i ended up in PTL at 33 weeks and had heart issues. This one thankfully does not shrug my issues off (and is probably a bit over zealous)

Well that'll teach you, won't it...

You could check and see if you can take something like Natural Calm which is powdered and might be easier on your tummy. I'm sorry you've suddenly hit obstacles. Hopefully, this is the only one that you have to deal with for the rest of the time.

AAAK! Samantha! Didn't you say you didn't want to jinx yourself, but... Well... Goodness! I hope it does settle, or you can find something that isn't as harsh on your stomach as the brand you are taking. I don't know if other brands would be any better, but maybe a pharmacist would? They know a ton about meds and vitamins/minerals...

Hang in there! Have a great trip, too! No ER visits, lady!
