I liked having mine home too, but by the end of the summer, they are so ready to get back into it. Im so glad theyre back in school, even though the schedule kills me during pregnancy.

I'm starting to get happy about back to school. The boys are so bored lately and are driving me nuts with it lol. They're actually excited to go back. I'm sure they'll be over that excitement by week's end.

I miss having my girl at home, but she was ready to get back to school and so was I this year. The daily schedule is tiring, but better than the "I'm bored" blues.

DD1 started Kindergarten and LOVES it. I know our after-school activities are going to pick up in a couple weeks with both kiddos. DS started preschool, and he was also SO ready for it, but only goes 1 day a week, so not too bad. We're really going to have to be choosy as to what activities they want to be in because it's getting busy!

i think school days/weeks are just way too long for kids! its crazy to me how they can expect a 5 year old to sit for 40 hours a week. i hate sending brylie to school, too

They are not sitting for that long at all, lunch, recess, physical Ed, if they are sitting for 4 hours a day that's a lot. I just hate getting up early lol

I didn't like it either. This was my oldest daughter's first year of real school--1st grade. So first full day. My son goes to Kindy 8-11:15, my daughter 7:45-2. So drop off is ok, but pickup breaks up the day a lot. I work part time so I'm not dealing with it directly very often. I just hate that she's gone all day and missing afternoon playdates and park visits. My nanny knows that my youngest can skip naps so they can go to the park after school if she wants. And we've got all the days marked on the calendar that she is off. My kids have another group of kids they have become close friends with in the neighborhood that are all the same age, and they are homeschooled, so they miss her a lot!
We have soccer to, and swim will be this fall, then karate and art classes. So the schedule is kind of tough too especially since my husband doesn't get home until 7 most nights.
