I'm about two seconds from losing my mind. Madeline screams all day every day. She has since she was born. I'm completely worn out. She is never happy. I can't sit her down. She hates to swing she hates pacifiersand she is never happy to be anywhere but in someone's arms. she never sleeps ever.I keep thinking that maybe it's my breast milk. She has terrible gas all the time and reflux.I just wonder if I put her on formula would she be happier? I definitely don't want to but I don't know what to do anymore. I am so jealous of everyone else who seem to be enjoying their baby so much and I feel like I'm barely hanging on each day. I just wonder when it is going to stop because she will be four months old on the 7th. I have been stressed out since I had her. I love her more than anything in the world but something has got to give. I feel so isolated and alone dealing with a baby that screams day in and day out.maybe I should stop breastfeeding. I have given up all dairy. Most all soy. Will she be better on formula???

Hugs. This was our life with Bourne. It was really rough but somewhere between 5-6 months, a switch flipped and he quit screaming so much.

How long ago did you give up dairy? I gave it up when Bodhi was a couple weeks old, but didn't realize I was eating preseasoned fajita meat with it in there. Needless to say the last 3 weeks have been rough around here. Is it possible it is still getting in somewhere? Or it could be reflux - is she medicated for it?

You are doing an amazing job and Bourne is proof that you both will get through this and have the strongest bonds.

As far as the better on formula question: You will most likely need to use Nutramigen or a soy based, neither which is cheap. She may be. You can always try it a couple of days while you pump and see if there is improvement.

I struggled with this as well. I wish I had an answer for you. Corbin still has his days where he screams but it's getting better slowly. I hope the same for you. There have been many moments where I say I want to give up....most of the time somewhere around 2-3am when one or the other has been up every hour or two.

My supply is horrible so I have to supplement once, sometimes twice, a day. I would check with your pediatrician about what type to use and maybe try a little formula. I'm thinking it certainly can't hurt to give it a go. Continue pumping when you bottle feed so your supply doesn't drop. Hopefully she will outgrow this quickly and things will get better. You have to do what is best for you. Stay strong mama!

I agree with the other ladies. Pump to keep up the supply and perhaps try formula for a week. Just one question - will she accept all bottles. Ellianna does not want the bottle when I am available.

I know exactly how hard it is. Like Kat said, there is a switch around 5-6 months where the screaming gets so much better. Abri screamed and never slept even with her reflux meds (without meds was a disaster). By 5 months old we were able to stop giving her medication. By 6 months old, the spit up and screaming was over. After that stress was over, we were able to work on resolving her sleep issues. That got progressively better too. I mentioned in your FB post that I decided not to give up breastfeeding. I did a lot of reading on reflux and many agreed that breastfeeding was often better for a reflux baby because it soothes their burning throat.
