So I had mentioned this before that my breast were killing me and I have tried everything. I bought the lanacare pads no help, tried heat that helps and lots of hot showers during the day I also have to express to get relief but while I am working 10 hours a day I suffer. But it has gotten so bad that it makes me cry and I swear when I am having an episode I can kill someone. 4000 mg of Tylenol is a joke plus my poor liver has to filter all that. Today I decided to see a breast specialist he reviewed my films and guess what dilated milk ducts, mastitis so he finally gave me antibiotics, I am praying for quick relief so that I can sleep a few more full nights before the little guy comes . This could have probably been resolved when it started 2 1/2 months ago and if I had found someone to listen to me during pregnancy. All other doctors said once baby comes we can see what the problem is since you are not lactating yet, what a joke! We know our bodies so ladies remember that!!

I am sooooo very sorry to hear this!!!! I've only had mastitis after baby, so I am concerned for you afterward. You are already able to express? My midwife taught me to clear it up by soaking in a tub as hot as I can stand (full submersion!) and express EVERY TWO HOURS. The plugged ducts will release in a string~kinda like a pimple~and won't readily dissipate in the water as the milk does. (While pregnant I don't think that a tub quite that hot is best.) Lots of fluids, nurse nurse nurse, and I use some other natural remedies: lecithin, vit. c, and Mastitis Remedy by Wishgarden Herbs. If I don't have these things on-hand sometimes I'll use garlic or echinacea or other herbs that are good for flu (and safe for baby).

Letting it go for sooo long I'm surprised you don't have a fever! Be wary of that later and treat for mastitis whenever you have flu-like symptoms, just to be sure. Mastitis also means you need more rest!!!! Sounds like those 10-hour days are not helping. Also be sure your bra is not too tight or pinching anywhere~no underwire. I know for me when nursing even sleeping on the fold of my t-shirt can cause pressure that my tissues just can't take. We're all so different!

Again, I'm sooo sorry! Definitely keep those LanaCares, as I do believe with early intervention they will be helpful. UGH I've struggled so, but never even before baby comes. I pray the docs are right, and that nursing will be the key for you. That's when I begin to struggle~sometimes just putting on a bra to go shopping for a time!

(((((Dear One))))) No fun.

I think you are too kind. Kind people give the people around them a hard time. You can't express yourself honestly, because you are worried about hurting other people's feelings, and that makes you miserable.~"Winter Sonata"

I was just about to say it sounds like mastitis --- and then i finished reading your post lol.

It should go away with the antibiotics! It is a little rare for ladies to get it when not pregnant, but it does happen!!!
