You would think I would be able to answer this myself beings it's my fourth child, but the truth is I forget. So my question is, I'm four weeks postpartum today. I know I overdid it after having him because of having three other kids to care for and it was right before Christmas. So some of what I've been going through is from that. However, about 3 days postpartum I got sick with horrible diarrhea, I was shivering and felt like I was going to throw up but never did. I did call the Dr.'s office and they got me in but she just said maybe I had caught something and I may be feeling worse because my blood sugar was still trying to level out and I was very anemic. But she couldn't say really what was going on because I delivered two hours away and she didn't have my delivery information. So I called my Dr.'s office two hours away since I don't remember feeling so awful after delivery. The Dr.'s office there said to really watch my sugar levels the next couple days and take it easy and call back if I got worse. Well I started feeling better overall but since then I have still been having nasty cramps off and on, stomach pains, and my bleeding just gushes at times. I talked to the Dr.'s office two hours away again, about a week and a half ago and they said they could get me in but I was feeling fine that day so I passed it off. Now I'm not sure if I should try to wait it out for another two weeks, my 6 week check-up to make sure everything is ok or if I should try to get in earlier. We don't have a lot of money right now, after having the baby, Christmas and my DH's birthday, so I hate to waste a trip. So I guess my question to you gals is what you think? Is this normal? I don't remember being so yucky feeling after my last and my one before that I had kept brushing my feelings off as normal and it turned out I had a tear in my uterus.

Thanks ladies! I really needed thoughts from those going through this currently!

Not sure what to say except if its weighing heavily on your mind, you should get checked, especially with your history. I know it's a far trip, but its sounds like you are having a tough recovery. GL and feel better.

I would go. You shouldn't be gushing or having much bleeding at this point. Plus feeling so bad. I have some minor random cramping sometimes still, but nothing concerning.

Thanks girls. I kinda thought that would be best, but wanted others opinions. And whether it was normal at this point or not.

I am 3 weeks postpartum and after tapering off my bleeding just came back heavily and gushy.I am also having cramps. Dr told me that it is tied to growth spurts BC I am breastfeeding. When baby demands more milk your body revs up the hormones and the bleeding returns for a few days.
