Avocado. It is soft and has lots of healthy fat.

Probably avocado or sweet potato. We'll try around 6 months. Fun stuff!

I was thinking avacado too, but I am not sure if I can do that. They are out of season here and the ones I can find in the stores are rock hard. I may have to start with green beans or peas. Then onto other green veggies and next the fruits.

Avocado, cut into chunks more than likely at either 6 months or after-basically when he starts to show an interest.

Are you going to do Baby Lead Weaning? I love the idea of doing this. I want to read the book about it,
I'm thinking we'll do a combo of BLW and some purees.

I don't know if I can handle the choking aspect of baby led weaning! We'll do avocado or sweet potato or maybe banana.

I will more than likely do baby lead weaning but I'm not 100% positive yet, if I do I will more than likely start foods later than I would if I started purees. I haven't ever read the book, but my daughter wasn't a fan of purees and neither were one of the boys I had in my daycare so I was kind of thrown into it with them. They are both a lot less picky than most kids their age and I really think that had something to do with it. If we do purees I will make the purees for him.

I tried Mango with her and she hated it, so I guess I am going to try bananas next probably by the first of February.

I'll start with rice cereal, then either avocado or squash.

We are skipping cereal all together. We will start with avocado or sweet potatoes somewhere between 5-6 months. I will be making all of his food so it all depends on what is in season then.

We started my first with chunks of avocado and also bananna. We did BLW and no regrets! She fed herself from the start and made my life so much easier, I plan to do the same again.

Honestly I don't have a master plan or anything. I will likely give him what we are eating at the time - if the CSA gives us cauliflower, he'll eat mashed cauliflower. If I have a bunch of bananas, he'll eat that. I have been into sweet potato and squash lately (and throughout pregnancy - need orange foods all the time!) so that could be a finalist. If we lived in south Florida, definitely avocado. I probably won't buy baby cereal because after watching a lot of food documentaries lately while breastfeeding, I'm scared to shop in the middle of the grocery store.

We've started with baby oatmeal because rice cereal constipates her. Next we're trying carrots. She's still not sure what to think of the cereal and gets frustrated with the concept of a spoon, she doesnt understand why there isn't a steady supply of food like there is with a bottle and starts screaming between spoons.
