I try to either drink a green beer or have a green bagel or something green. I've never been one to go out drinking all day. Mike and I went out once for a drink or two and that was about it. I do wear green that day
I love St. Patrick's Day. With kid's named Fiona and Finnegan, it's pretty obvious that we're into our Irish heritage.
A couple of years ago I threw an awesome St. Patrick's Day party. Living in Arizona, by the time you get to mid-March, the temps are in the 90's and corned beef and cabbage feels like winter food. So instead I did "Irish kebabs"...I marinated chunks of beef, new potatoes, and pearl onions and then skewered and grilled them. I served them with coleslaw instead of cooked cabbage. That, plus Irish soda bread, plenty of Guinness, and Bailey's & chocolate cupcakes. So yummy, and so much fun. Everyone wore green (mandatory) and the kids had a table to themselves with leprechaun and rainbow colouring pages.
Once we get back into our own house I plan to start throwing parties again, and St. Patrick's Day will definitely be one of the big ones.
